Here is one of our newest creations. We're calling it a Gemstone Rope necklace and this one is made from about 15 feet of pure silver wire, sterling silver findings, and an entire string of Amber nuggets.
If you look closely, you can see that the wire passes through each amber nugget. In fact, we string all the gems onto the wire first, then start weaving. After weaving a bit, we begin working the stones into the weave, one bead for each stitch. Then we balance the necklace out, add cones at each end, and a clasp, an S - hook in this case.
We've been having a great time with these necklaces, and it's always fascinating to make one and see how the finished product compares to what we imagined. I can't look at a string of beads any more without imagining them woven into a Gemstone Rope.
